We know this land from life, not from a map: its early-morning silence, sandy banks, pine scent and the feeling of becoming closer around a fire after a day on the river.

Our work is more than handing over a kayak. We want you to set off at ease, return with stories and want to come back.

Our homeland

Merkinė — where rivers, roads and people meet.

Brolių baidarės is based in Merkinė, one of Lithuania’s oldest inhabited places, at the confluence of the Nemunas and Merkys and a historic crossroads.

Merkinė was listed among important Eastern European towns as early as the fourteenth century. Stone Age traces and the hillfort above the rivers preserve its memory.

The Gothic church, old triangular square and Dzūkija National Park traditions belong to a living region we want to share slowly, respectfully and from the water.
